Maria Heim, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Maria Heim, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Graduate Division of General & Special Education at Touro College. Her areas of expertise include: Assessment, Child Development, and identifying and teaching children with disabilities. She is currently the coordinator of services for graduate students with disabilities as well as the chairperson of the Curriculum Committee. Dr. Heim has a long history of teaching at the university level, including teaching graduate courses and seminars at Brooklyn College and The College of St. Rose.

Her clinical experience includes working as a school psychologist at the BOCES Program for Alternative Comprehensive Education, supervision of doctoral students and a private practice in Queens, New York.
