“As a mother of two teenage daughters and as someone who works full-time, I knew I had to enroll in a master’s program that would fit both my academic and scheduling needs. Touro has provided me with the perfect opportunity to meet both of these requirements. By pursuing my higher education degree, I’m able to bring that passion and knowledge into the classroom to encourage my students to reach the highest levels of competency and to further push them to be the best that they can be. I believe that every day is an opportunity to learn something new and that the more you know, the more you grow. There is no limit to what you can do when presented with an endless amount of educational opportunities,” said Katz.

“In her current role, Katz has made multiple contributions to our school’s community where she serves as a champion for students of all backgrounds, ethnicities, socio-economic levels and advocates for those who need additional academic and behavioral support. She provides students with a safe space to learn and devotes her free time to accommodate students who need a quiet area to focus and learn. Additionally, Katz stays after school once a week for ‘Craft Club’ in which she works with a student who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. The student wanted to join the club but knew that her disability might limit her, so Katz rose to the occasion by volunteering to regularly attend the club with her in case any issues arose,” said Professor Ellen Margolin.
