Childhood Education and Special Education

“I’m thankful for my Touro professors who have helped me every step of the way through my educational journey. Whenever I doubted myself, they helped me overcome countless challenges and I’m forever grateful for their advice,” said Gendreau.

“Without Gendreau, the students would have missed out on a great educational experience.  After substituting for two years, she was made a more permanent substitute teacher. Rather than simply reading books to our students, she helped to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) lessons into our daily course load, exposing students to a variety of topics such as plant life cycle and photosynthesis, fossils and different types of body systems,” said Holly Sookram, a teacher at P.S. 143Q Louis Armstrong School.
