Elaine Nikolakakos, Ed.D., is an accomplished literacy education advocate with extensive experience. She currently chairs Touro University's Master of Science in Teaching Literacy Program. Her impressive career includes roles as a Certification Officer at Mercy College and decades of service within the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Nikolakakos holds numerous New York state certifications and has made noteworthy contributions to the field through her research and presentations. Her work focuses on grade inflation in teacher education programs and the challenges of culturally responsive teaching. She has presented internationally and actively participates in academic conferences, such as the AACTE 74th Annual Meeting, highlighting her dedication to literacy education and the broader academic community.
