Integrating Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices in Higher Education Institutions - Part 2 (Four-Part Workshop Series)

Dr. Catherine Voulgarides (Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Education, Touro College)

Dr. Linda Green (Director, Recruitment and Field Relations, Graduate School of Education, Touro College)

Given the diversity of our candidates, it is important that we develop a culturally responsive approach to teaching and learning that thoughtfully engages all learners to create a dynamic and synergetic learning environment. In this four-part workshop, we will provide a common working definition of culturally responsive education; explore personal connections to the topic through an intersectional lens; learn skills and strategies that utilize a culturally responsive approach to teaching and learning; and analyze a GSE syllabus in order to identify where a culturally responsive lens can be included and modified to reflect a more inclusive approach to teaching and learning. Lander Center for Educational Research Workshop.
