Professor Stephen Levy Receives Education Award

GSE Professor Recognized at Annual Outstanding Educators-of-the-Year Event

Award recipient Dr. Stephen Levy (left), a professor at the Touro College Graduate School of Education (GSE), and Touro College President and CEO Dr. Alan Kadish were guests at the 12th Annual Outstanding Educators-of-the-Year Awards held recently at the Harvard Club in Manhattan.

Dr. Levy was one of 12 Outstanding Administrator honorees. An award-winning educator and published author for over 45 years, Dr. Levy has been deputy chair/director of Graduate Studies for the GSE Forest Hills site, a principal with the New York City Department of Education and is active in several advanced educational initiatives, including the Children’s Scholarship Fund and the National Teacher’s Advisory Board. He served as president of Phi Delta Kappa at Columbia University Teachers College and was a liaison to the New York City Task Force for Quality Inclusive Schooling. He has been with Touro College since 2006.

Other guests at the awards event included Dr. Carmen Farina, New York City Department of Education Schools Chancellor; Jennifer Raab, J.D., Hunter College President; and Dr. Merryl Tisch, Chairman of the New York State Board of Regents.
