Dr. Karpov received his BA, MA, and PhD degrees in Educational and Developmental Psychology from Moscow State University, Russia. After he moved to the United States in 1991, he guest lectured at different Universities, later becoming a Visiting Associate Professor of Psychology and Human Development at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Since 1994, he has been an Associate Professor of Psychology and Education (since 2001 - Professor of Psychology and Education) and Associate Dean at the Graduate School of Education of Touro College. His fields of scientific interest include the study of children's cognitive and metocognitive development from the Vygotskian perspective, and the implementation of Vygotsky's ideas in education.
