Courses
The coursework for all three Education and Special Education master's programs give students the foundation they need to be effective educators. All courses, with the exclusion of field work and practicums, can be completed online.

Exams and Expectations:
The different concentrations lead to New York State Initial or Professional Teacher Certification - in early childhood education (birth - grade 2), in childhood education and students with disabilities (grades 1-6), or teaching students with disabilities, generalist (grades 7-12) - upon graduation from the program and completion of New York State Education Department (NYSED) requirements, including passing grades on NYSED teacher certification examinations. NYS Professional Teacher Certification is awarded after three full years (September – June) of full-time teaching experience.
Registering for Classes:
Non-matriculated students can apply and register online. Non-matriculated students taking online courses should contact Dr. Virginia Seda, Coordinator of Online Education and Special Education, at virginia.seda@touro.edu for advisement on the courses to take to achieve their goals.
Matriculated students should meet with their program personnel and register through the TouroOne portal.
