Dr. Jennifer Economos is an Assistant Professor of Education, Alternative Programs and University Partnerships at Touro University with over a decade of experience in higher education, clinical supervision, and K–12 instruction. She has served as a secondary English and Special Education teacher, instructional designer, doctoral mentor, and educational consultant. Her areas of expertise include literacy intervention for students with disabilities, inclusive curriculum development, and the integration of educational technology and artificial intelligence in teacher preparation. A nationally and internationally published researcher, her scholarship has been featured in journals including the International Journal on Innovations in Online Education,Journal of Effective Teaching,Journal for Leadership and Instruction, and theNew York Journal of Student Affairs.
Education
Dr. Economos holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration and a Master of Science in Adolescence Education with additional coursework in Special Education, both from Dowling College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Writing and Communication from Siena College. Dr. Economos also holds New York State professional certifications in English Language Arts (grades 5-9 and 7-12), and Students with Disabilities in English (grades 7-12).
Dr. Economos is also the parent of a child with special needs, a perspective that deeply informs her commitment to inclusive, trauma-sensitive, and equity-centered education.
