Dr. Margaret Jusinski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education and Special Education at Touro University, bringing more than three decades of public-school teaching and higher education experience. She earned her PhD in Teacher Education and Teacher Development from Montclair State University, an MA in Sociology from Columbia University, and a BA in Sociology from Rutgers University.
Dr. Jusinski’s research examines how teachers enrich their practice through tacit, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, with a particular focus on knowledge-broker teachers. These educators act as intermediaries of knowledge by translating, adapting, and circulating ideas and resources by sharing expert knowledge where it is needed, and channeling needs to sources of support. She also investigates how emerging technologies can make this brokerage more visible, equitable, and scalable, thereby strengthening collegial networks and improving teachers’ practices.
In New Jersey public schools, Dr. Jusinski taught science, robotics, and technology, and served as a technology and instructional coach. In these roles, she implemented inquiry-based, standards-aligned instruction; designed interdisciplinary STEAM curricula; led technology-focused professional development; and collaborated with teachers on differentiated, inclusive practices. In higher education, she has taught as an adjunct professor at Felician University, New Jersey City University, Montclair State University, and Touro University.
Shaped by more than three decades in education, her varied teaching experiences inform her practice as a professor and enable her to build meaningful connections with teacher candidates and practicing educators.
