Dr. Jennifer Economos is an Assistant Professor of Literacy and Special Education in the Graduate School of Education at Touro University. She brings more than a decade of experience across higher education, clinical supervision, and K–12 settings, having served as a secondary English and special education teacher, instructional designer, doctoral mentor, and educational consultant.

Her professional expertise centers on literacy intervention, instruction for students with disabilities, inclusive and responsive curriculum design, and the integration of educational technology and artificial intelligence in teacher preparation. A nationally and internationally published scholar, her work has appeared in journals including the International Journal on Innovations in Online EducationJournal of Effective TeachingJournal for Leadership and Instruction, and the New York Journal of Student Affairs.

Dr. Economos earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration and a Master of Science in Adolescence Education, with additional coursework in Special Education, from Dowling College. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Writing and Communication from Siena University and maintains New York State professional certifications in English Language Arts (grades 5–9 and 7–12) and Students with Disabilities in English (grades 7–12).

As the parent of a child with special needs, Dr. Economos brings both professional and personal insight to her work, grounding her scholarship and teaching in a strong commitment to inclusive, equitable, and student-centered education.
